Vail Oktoberfest in LionsheadSeptember 05, 2014 - September 07, 2014

Munich comes to the streets of Vail in September for the world’s greatest celebration of beer, music and autumn: Oktoberfest! Dust off the lederhosen, throw on the dirndls and toast your steins to the world’s most popular party. Oktoberfest's dual celebration weekends will happen in Lionshead Sept. 5-7 and Vail Village Sept. 12-14.

Emulating the more than 200-year-old celebration known by millions around the world, Vail’s Oktoberfest will delight guests for two whole weekends with Bavarian music and dancing, traditional fare, yodeling, alpenhorn blowing, Bavarian beverages and much more. Oktoberfest 2014 will see the return of many crowd favorites like bratwurst eating contests, Keg Bowling and the Oktoberfest Fun Run.

See Vail's own Helmut Fricker playing traditional (and not so traditional) tunes on the accordion and alpenhorn in full traditional German attire! A crowd favorite for years and not to be missed.

Vail Automotive Classic ShowSeptember 05, 2014 - September 07, 2014

The most comprehensive auto, aircraft and motorcycle show in Western Colorado is back for it’s fifth year. The Vail Automotive Classic will once again host a weekend filled with automobile and aircraft events in the Vail Valley, September 5th, 6th & 7th, 2014.

The Wheels & Wings Show is an open expo of over 200 cars, airplanes and helicopters, and tons motorcycles, bringing in crowds of over 2,500 people. A spectacular aerobatics show, airplane rides, food vendors, beer tent, and children’s activity hangar are also part of the event. Immediately following the Wheels & Wings Show is the Vail Automotive Classic Auto Auction (car viewing 3pm-4:30pm, auction starts at 4:30pm) with proceed benefitting Jack’s Place at Shaw Regional Cancer Center and Eagle Valley Senior Life.

The weekend concludes with the Vail Automotive Classic Select Car Show on Sunday, September 7, 2014 in Vail Village, 9:00am-3:00pm. Spectators may peruse the award winners of the Wheels & Wings Show in the magnificent setting of Vail Village. Sunday’s show showcases vintage, classics, and custom cars and includes a People’s Choice Award Ceremony at 1:30 p.m.

The America Cup Fly Fishing TournamentSeptember 09, 2014 - September 14, 2014

The America Cup Fly Fishing Tournament is a catch and release, fly-fishing tournament with International, U.S., Youth and Adaptive anglers competing on the best trout waters in Colorado. 5 person teams compete for gold, silver, and bronze medals and The Cup. The tournament is organized and operated to promote U.S. and international competition in the sport of fly fishing and to provide program and monetary support to Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, whose mission is to assist in the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled active duty military personnel and veterans through fly fishing and fly tying education and outings. The America Cup will be the producing entity for the Youth World Fly Fishing Championships in 2015 (20 countries representing) and the Men’s World Fly Fishing Championships 2016 (30-35 countries representing).

Lionshead Wine, Spirit and Chocolate FestivalSeptember 26, 2014 - September 27, 2014

A two-day event featuring Colorado wine and spirit growers who are on hand for tastings, serving, and selling their fruits of the vine. In addition to the great wine, creative Chocolate dessert samplings created by a balance of local pastry chefs and outside vendors will be for sale to patrons wishing to pair the wines with chocolate.

Pink VailMarch 21, 2015

Pink Vail is the world’s biggest ski day to benefit patients and survivors. Last year, the event drew in over 1,300 participants and raised $250,000 for survivorship programs at Shaw Regional Cancer Center. Enjoy on-mountain competitions, a group descent down Vail Mountain, and live music.
