| Vail Whitewater Kayak Race Series | May 14, 2013 - June 18, 2013 Every Tuesday from May 14th-June 18th from 5-7pm on Gore Creek, the Vail Kayak Race Series will hold different races for competitors and spectators to enjoy. Races feature kayakers, stand up paddle boarders, and rafters. The "Down River" races will have racers paddling as fast as possible from the Covered Bridge to the International Bridge. Racers will need to navigate turning around two buoys before crossing the finish line. The "Ring Your Bell" Race has competitors racing from the Covered Bridge to International Bridge, but they cannot complete the race unless all bells on buoys are rung. |

| La Sportiva Hill Climb Trail Running Race | July 06, 2013 Named best trail race by Colorado Runner in 2006 and 2011, the HillClimb will test local, regional and national runners with a 7.5 mile climb from Vail Village to Vail Mountain’s summit, a gain of 2,500 vertical feet. The race begins at 8 a.m. in Vail Village on the paved road next to Vail’s Mountain Haus and continues the ascent on a gravel trail that takes runners to the finish line at Eagle’s Nest. The Eagle Bahn Gondola in LionsHead will operate from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. for race-day spectators and volunteers. The HillClimb is presented by the Vail Mountain Haus and is the third race of the 2013 La Sportiva Vail Mountain Trail Running Series. |

| KEEN Vail Kid's Adventure Race | August 08, 2013 - August 11, 2013 Overview: The 4th annual KEEN Vail Kids Adventure Race will offer kids, ages six through 14, the opportunity to experience the thrill of adventure racing through Vail and the surrounding wilderness. During the race, teams of two will work together to navigate a variety of sports and and problem-solving challenges, including mountain biking, hiking, tubing, archery, a low ropes course, a zip line, a climbing wall, a Tarzan swing, a giant slip-n-slide and more. The KEEN Vail Kids Adventure Race will begin with instructions and a safety briefing by Race Director and Adventure Racer, Billy Mattison. Competitors will be divided into waves based on age and start at set intervals. Younger children will race Saturday, Aug. 10 and older participants will race on Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013. New for 2013! The 2013 KEEN Vail Kids Adventure Race will expand to four days of fun for kids and families this summer. The event will include two days of optional skills clinics for race participants, an interactive Family Adventure Expo area and two days of competition with multiple courses based on the age and ability level of participants. | Gourmet on Gore | August 30, 2013 - September 02, 2013 Gourmet on Gore returns to Vail Village for the seventh year over Labor Day weekend. An open-air gourmetfood and wine festival, Gourmet on Gore takes place along Vail’s Gore Creek Drive and Bridge Street showcasing the Vail Valley’s premier restaurants as well as wine, beer and spirits from around the world. There is no cost for admission and guests can sample tasting-size portions of gourmet food as well as wine tastings and other beverages at very reasonable prices. Marathon runners will continue the second half of the race on Vail Mountain: dirt roads and trails (pending V.A. & USFS approval). The Kid's Race is a 1-mile course on road, dirt, and grass. Eight Aid Stations along half-marathon course and fourteen total aid staions along marathon route. Each stocked with energy gel and drink. Post-race brunch and beer. | La Sportiva Evergold 10K | September 15, 2013 The seventh and final race in the Vail Recreation District's (VRD) La Sportiva Vail Mountain Trail Running Series, the EverGold 11k and 5k presented by Happy Valley Grill, will begin and end at the Vail Golf Club and runners will traverse along the Vail Trail to Golden Peak, up the popular Berry Picker trail, to Lion Down, back to Golden Peak and finish the run on the Vail Trail for a distance just over seven miles. Runners will experience an average grade of 10 percent and gain nearly 1,700 feet in elevation throughout the race. Those participating in the 5k will also run on the Vail Trail to Golden Peak and then return back on the Vail Trail to the Vail Golf Club. |
