Vail Village Art WalkJune 18, 2014 - August 27, 2014

Meet each Wednesday morning at the Vail Village Welcome Center on the top level of the parking structure for an hour long free guided tour of Vail Village and the public art collection. After an introduction to the Colorado Ski & Snowboard Museum, the tour winds its way through the Village with discussions of the history of the Vail Valley, the founding of Vail Mountain, the master planning of the Village, and the importance of site-specific art. The Town’s public art collection includes over 40 works ranging from painting, sculptures, murals, playground components, to site-integrated art. The tour lasts approximately one hour.

The town of Vail’s new public art collection map is now available at the Vail Village and Lionshead Welcome Centers. The town’s art collection may also be viewed on a google map on www.artinvail.com.

Vail Jazz presents ten FREE outdoor concerts featuring local and regionally-based jazz talent at the Vail Farmers’ Market and Art Show, Sundays from noon to 3 pm. The jazz concerts are a natural complement to the fabulous shopping and wonderful food for which the casual outdoor market is known.  Jazz @ the Market is presented in a tent at Solaris on Meadow Drive in Vail Village.  Concerts start at noon with seating for up to 100 inside the tent.  Stop by to check out refreshing jazz groups at the market, and enjoy!

Emulating the more than 200-year-old celebration known by millions around the world, Vail’s Oktoberfest will delight guests for two whole weekends with Bavarian music and dancing, traditional fare, yodeling, alpenhorn blowing, Bavarian beverages and much more. Vail Automotive Classic ShowSeptember 05, 2014 - September 07, 2014

The most comprehensive auto, aircraft and motorcycle show in Western Colorado is back for it’s fifth year. The Vail Automotive Classic will once again host a weekend filled with automobile and aircraft events in the Vail Valley, September 5th, 6th & 7th, 2014.

The Wheels & Wings Show is an open expo of over 200 cars, airplanes and helicopters, and tons motorcycles, bringing in crowds of over 2,500 people. A spectacular aerobatics show, airplane rides, food vendors, beer tent, and children’s activity hangar are also part of the event. Immediately following the Wheels & Wings Show is the Vail Automotive Classic Auto Auction (car viewing 3pm-4:30pm, auction starts at 4:30pm) with proceed benefitting Jack’s Place at Shaw Regional Cancer Center and Eagle Valley Senior Life.

The weekend concludes with the Vail Automotive Classic Select Car Show on Sunday, September 7, 2014 in Vail Village, 9:00am-3:00pm. Spectators may peruse the award winners of the Wheels & Wings Show in the magnificent setting of Vail Village. Sunday’s show showcases vintage, classics, and custom cars and includes a People’s Choice Award Ceremony at 1:30 p.m.

The America Cup Fly Fishing TournamentSeptember 09, 2014 - September 14, 2014

The America Cup Fly Fishing Tournament is a catch and release, fly-fishing tournament with International, U.S., Youth and Adaptive anglers competing on the best trout waters in Colorado. 5 person teams compete for gold, silver, and bronze medals and The Cup. The tournament is organized and operated to promote U.S. and international competition in the sport of fly fishing and to provide program and monetary support to Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, whose mission is to assist in the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled active duty military personnel and veterans through fly fishing and fly tying education and outings. The America Cup will be the producing entity for the Youth World Fly Fishing Championships in 2015 (20 countries representing) and the Men’s World Fly Fishing Championships 2016 (30-35 countries representing).

Lionshead Wine, Spirit and Chocolate FestivalSeptember 26, 2014 - September 27, 2014
